BUILDtheworld is an online platform that is designed to make social impact more accessible, more collaborative and more enjoyable. The platform is created for diverse stakeholders that have an interest in creating social impact. Our product features enable users to connect, exchange knowledge, collaborate, and take action for social good to createl impact in a more holistic way.

The main features of our platform are (1) Karma profile, (2) Discussions, (3) Communities, (4) Campaigns, (5) My Activities

(1) Karma profile: Every user that signs up for our platform is given a personal Karma Profile. This profile is meant to expose the user’s interests concerning social impact and the user’s impact activities in terms of social impact hours (Karma hours). It also showcases the campaigns (in form of pictures and reports) the user has been a part of.

(2) Discussions: Our discussions are built around specific social impact themes. They bring together everyone who is working towards a common cause. They allow users to exchange knowledge, solve problems, and collectively move towards a common vision. Discussions can be initiated by any user of the platform and the initiator can also invite other users of the platform to participate. The discussions can lead to action through social impact campaigns.

(3) Communities: Individual users can find or create communities based on their interests or geography. Also, every organisation (schools, corporates, NGOs) can showcase their work and opportunities by creating their own community page.
With BUILD communities, you can:
- Have discussions based on a problem or a prompt
- Create campaigns with the approval of community leader
- See campaign pictures uploaded by volunteers
- See community members and their volunteering hours
(Community creation as of now is a website only feature)
(4) Campaigns: BUILD Campaigns are events or projects that address social issues. Campaigns can be created by any individual or organisation and needs approval either from the community lead if the campaign is started as a part of community, else from BUILDtheworld team. Our platform makes it possible to match with volunteers based on their skills and their location. Pictures and videos get added to the karma profiles and community pages. The platform also creates user reports for each campaigns and adds the total number of volunteer hours to the volunteers’ karma profiles. (Campaign creation as of now is a website only feature)
(5) My activities: Consolidated dashboard to view all the upcoming campaigns, past campaigns, campaigns in draft mode, and communities user is a part of.


Value proposition
(1) Volunteers: Volunteers find a huge challenge in finding the right cause, like-minded people, and most of all recognition. Our platform enables them to find interesting opportunities, find-like minded people and empower them to create a change in their own ways.

(2) Corporates: BUILD will provide companies with a CSR interface to discover like-minded NGOs and constructively interact with them through a CSR activity. The platform will enable corporates to take up community initiatives as team building activities as employees can create their own social impact campaigns and collaborate among each other. Corporate BUILD communities will keep an account of corporates’ cumulative impact on society, fostering their image as socially responsible organisations.


(3) Colleges and Schools: BUILD will help schools and colleges make their students as socially responsible citizens. Also, this will help students to showcase their leadership skills and take their innovations to the masses. Students can create their own social impact campaigns and can collaborate among each other to execute those campaigns.


(4) Social Organizations: The platform will help these organizations learn best practices from other similar organizations. Also, it will help them gain more resources in terms of volunteers.
